GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, this position involves working in an imaging lab. The multidisciplinary lab is comprised of faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research assistants from diverse backgrounds and collaborators from the Martinos Center, MGH and other institutions.

For this position, the Research Technologist (RT) will provide support in the development of software and firmware necessary for implementing data acquisition and processing functions related to the 7T MR-compatible high spatiotemporal resolution PET imaging system. The position involves working at a computer for software implementation and participating in the configuration and testing of the readout electronics and data acquisition at the Martinos Center.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual in this role will be responsible for programming and configuring the custom-made PET readout electronics developed in collaboration with Hamamatsu and Siemens, evaluating the ASIC boards and detector modules and PC-side HUB boards, assembling and evaluating the 19 rings that will make up the spherical PET insert, configuring data acquisition software, and troubleshooting.

Principal duties and responsibilities will include:

- ZHub programming and configuration

- Network configuration

- ASIC boards and detector testing

- Software configuration and troubleshooting

- Timely ordering and maintaining the laboratory supplies; documenting their purchases

- Maintaining instruments and laboratory equipment as assigned.

- Performing other work as needed

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Proficiency with advanced software packages related to electronics used in imaging detectors.

• Ability to work independently and as a team member

• Reasonable communication skills.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred: Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE: Indicate the required and preferred (optional)amount and type of experience.

Required: 3+ years of related research experience, implementing and debugging software and firmware for positron emission tomography detectors.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Remotely and Building 149, CNY
