Baer is looking for an SAP Procure-to-Pay Consultant for a 12+ month Federal remote project.

Project Overview:

Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S4 HANA's standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.

Description:

We are looking for an experienced SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Consultant with strong Configuration and Enterprise Structure expertise. This hands-on consultant will play a critical role in building the procurement and accounts payable solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Leveraging deep configuration skills to execute baseline configuration of the Procurement and Accounts Payable modules, ensuring alignment with client requirements and S4 HANA standards.
• Engaging in hands-on prototyping exercises to validate configurations and test potential solutions, ensuring that the system meets business process requirements.
• Analyzing current Procurement and Accounts Payable processes and mapping them to S4 HANA standards to identify deviations from the standard configuration.
• Designing and configuring Enterprise Structure elements including purchasing organizations, plants, storage locations, and company codes to support the alignment with S4 HANA's architecture.
• Ensuring the creation and validation of master data elements specific to Procurement and Accounts Payable, such as vendor master data, purchasing info records, and payment terms, to enhance operational accuracy.
• Documenting current state P2P processes, identifying gaps, and evaluating alternatives (e.g., customization versus adopting S4 HANA standard processes).
• Establishing cross-module integration points between Procurement and Accounts Payable with other modules such as Finance (FI), Materials Management (MM), and Controlling (CO), ensuring efficient data flow and process consistency.
• Developing hierarchical structures for procurement and vendor management to align with organizational reporting and control requirements.
• Configuring procurement workflows for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice processing to enable efficient approval processes.
• Designing solutions for invoice verification and automated payment processes, incorporating Enterprise Structure alignment for optimal performance.
• Developing key metrics specific to Procurement and Accounts Payable that will be used in partnership with the Data team to establish baselines and continuously monitor performance throughout the migration.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P) with deep configuration and Enterprise Structure expertise.
• Proven experience with S4 HANA implementations, preferably within the federal government or A&D sectors. Consultants with significant ECC Finance Configuration experience in the DoD space will also be considered.
• 9+ years of relevant SAP experience including 6 years of experience leading business systems modernization/sustainment and related projects.
• Experience deploying functional and technical subject-matter expertise in a particular relevant field in support of State or Federal Government agencies or large, complex companies (greater than 1,000) employees.
• Bachelor's Degree in appropriate technical field from an accredited institution. An additional (2) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Professional IT Certification - CISA (or similar) or Certification in one or more relevant SAP Modules.
• Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Public Sector, or government regulated industry experience (i.e.: Aerospace & Defense) experience required. Army or Navy experience is preferred.
• Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required.
