About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist / Industrial Hygienist with HAZMAT experience to join our growing team. This position may be staffed in Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa, FL; Huntsville, AL; Mobile, AL; New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; or Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate possesses approximately 5 years of related experience with HAZMAT investigation to include asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, mold, etc. Successful candidate will hold appropriate training, certifications, licenses for same with ability to obtain reciprocal or additional certifications as needed. Existing training, certifications, and licenses should be clearly identified in your resume. Successful candidate will have direct experience leading HAZMAT sampling/investigation, preparing technical reports, working with architects/engineers to accurately reflect HAZMAT materials on design plans and communicate considerations with appropriate specifications. In this position, the successful candidate will perform HAZMAT survey/investigation/reporting for clients across the United States. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects. Successful candidate would have the opportunity to cross-train or grow in other areas such as Environmental Site Assessments, Natural Resources Surveys, NEPA documentation, etc. Specific experience with Federal Agency and Department of Defense clients would be beneficial. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.
Experience and Qualifications
- USEPA/AHERA accredited asbestos inspector certification - REQUIRED. Please indicate which states you are licensed in.
- USEPA Lead Inspector certification - REQUIRED. Please indicate which states you are licensed in.
- Mold Inspector - OPTIONAL. Please indicate which states you are licensed in.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Direct related experience with Federal Agencies of Department of Defense clients is preferred.
- Willingness for occasional travel throughout the United States.
- Cross-training experience with Phase I ESAs, Natural Resources Surveys, NEPA documentation, etc., or interest in same, is preferred.
- Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
- Clear and concise communication to include verbal and technical writing.
- Physical ability to complete the necessary components of the work including field investigation.
- High level of knowledge and competency around the regulatory environment and legal requirements of the work.
- Safety-focused mindset.

Additional Information Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Scientist III with a salary range of $65,600.00 - $99,800.00 .
