Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility and its personnel. This role involves monitoring both stationary and roving security posts, depending on the assignment, and maintaining control over the ingress and egress of individuals and vehicles. Key duties include inspection of people and property, maintaining detailed logs, writing investigative reports, and operating security communication systems, including switchboards and two-way radios. This position also involves conducting preliminary investigations into accidents, thefts, workplace incidents, and other security-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify the identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and team members, ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access.
• Conduct inspections of carry-in items such as bags, briefcases, toolboxes, and lunchboxes.
• Prepare detailed investigative reports on incidents such as accidents, theft, workplace violence, and other security breaches.
• Perform preliminary investigations into incidents and assist as needed.
• Patrol the facility by walking or roving to monitor physical security and identify potential risks.
• Log truck traffic entering and exiting the facility and inspect all motor vehicles for compliance with security protocols.

Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Supervisory and investigative experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided to qualified candidates.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy is desirable, particularly proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Special Skills: Strong communication skills are essential. Must be able to interact professionally and respectfully with all personnel, including management. The ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion is a must.
• Other Requirements: A valid driver's license and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
