JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This role is essential in gathering, organizing, and managing business data within an integrated software suite to enhance our operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will oversee applications that automate critical business functions, with particular emphasis on coordinating and managing the automated testing processes, particularly in collaboration with our external vendor for all Enterprise Business Systems applications. This role requires in-depth expertise in business systems analysis and the ability to lead complex projects with minimal oversight, contributing significantly to our mission of providing top-quality care for children and their families.

  • Develop and deliver training objectives to meet team needs.

  • Prepare and deliver both oral and written presentations.

  • Conduct and actively participate in instructional seminars.

  • Gain expertise across multiple Cincinnati Children's computer-based systems.

Summary

  • Exercise independent judgment within established policies and procedures with minimal guidance.

  • Author and execute testing and quality assurance for the enterprise business suite.

  • Document testing outcomes and monitor quality standards.

  • Resolve complex issues by demonstrating advanced knowledge and problem-solving skills.

  • Stay current with new developments beyond one's specialty area to support broader business functions.

  • Participate in developing moderately to highly complex business solutions.

  • Design business processes, create user guides, and ensure consistency in technical documentation.

  • Support the development lifecycle, collaborating with analysts to align technical documentation with business needs.

  • Facilitate communication between technical and business teams.

  • Participate in creating project plans and oversee the planning and execution of annual events.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on initiatives.

Configuration and Process

  • Implement and maintain moderately to highly complex business processes within the enterprise business application suite.

  • Serve as a key team member in implementing and validating application configuration solutions.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of applications and reporting tools to analyze and recommend solutions for the business area.

  • Utilize project management methodologies and the application development lifecycle to lead annual events.

  • Create and maintain documentation that supports enterprise business applications.

  • Use business theories, concepts, and principles to recommend and draft solutions for process improvement.

Production Support

  • Provide support for escalated production and process issues.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues and interpret error messages to determine solutions.

  • Identify necessary resources to address and resolve complex issues.

  • Use Change Control methods to implement system solutions.

  • Act as a liaison between business units and Information Services.

  • Support departmental initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Review and evaluate recommendations for business process improvements.

  • Design and implement change management plans for business process adjustments.

  • Review information provided by business systems analysts.

  • Exercise judgment and follow appropriate escalation procedures as per IT service level agreements.

Customer Service

  • Deliver exceptional end-user support by monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) for incident management.

  • Collaborate with other areas to ensure a customer-centered support experience.

  • Adhere to and promote the adoption of change management policies and procedures.

  • Model exemplary customer service behavior, ensuring prompt and effective follow-up with customers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred:

  • Workday experience highly preferred

  • Strong familiarity with testing principles, methodologies, and processes

  • Proficiency in test tracking and test management software

  • Experience in test script development and management

  • Testing certifications or formal training desired
