Our People.AI strategy aims to empower our People business and associates by converting our people data, business processes and the knowledge and experience of our HR subject matter experts into search experiences, recommendations, outlier alerts and talent segmentations. People.AI is building a GenAI powered platform with multitude of services that will unlock the potential of Walmart's products and to increase productivity and boost associate satisfaction. This platform will democratize information access in a seamless fashion, allowing our customers to make better decisions quicker. All of this will be done in a federated and data protected approach for internal use, which means that users can query using internal and personal data without worry that they will be exposing proprietary or personal information to an outside party. A core capability of these services will be a unified and extensible ML inferencing platform, model management, and ML-Ops, to accelerate time-to-market and maintain quality of service. You will have numerous opportunities to collaborate with Senior data scientists to design, architect, and build AI/ML model and model systems, Machine learning engineers to deploy, operate, and optimize scalable solutions & Product managers to design user journeys, feedback loop and analyse user telemetry.

What you'll do:
Lead Technical Role in Building Solutions:
- Develop innovative data science solutions in collaboration with product managers and business stakeholders to address complex business problems across Walmart.
End-to-End Solution Delivery:
- Own and deliver comprehensive solutions by applying advanced machine learning algorithms and complex statistical models on large datasets.
Product Mindset and Deployment:
- Utilize a product-centric approach to build, scale, and deploy holistic data science products, ensuring successful prototyping and practical problem-solving.
Communication and Data Storytelling:
- Clearly communicate complex models, analyses, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences through rich visualization and presentations
Mentorship and Best Practices:
- Coach junior data scientists, stay updated with industry best practices, and drive innovation by contributing to publications and patents, while ensuring adherence to Walmart's standards and ethical practices.
What you'll bring:Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with data science, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Solid understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies.
Statistical and Mathematical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of linear algebra and probability theory fundamentals.
- Extensive experience with statistical analysis and the ability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in large datasets.
Big Data Ecosystem Experience:
- Proficiency in SQL/Hive and working with Spark.
- Ability to navigate and analyze large volumes of data within a big data ecosystem.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Ability to effectively communicate complex models and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in publishing research, presenting findings, and driving innovation through various mediums.
Full-Stack Data Science and Agile Development:
- Proven track record of taking data science solutions from prototype to production.
- Experience working in agile environments and managing data science sprint projects.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
