AboutWalmart Energy Transformation
The Walmart Energy Transformation team is a newly reimagined energy team that was created to ensure the team has the resources and internal positioning to deliver on Walmart's energy-related regenerative goals. The team now reports directly to the COO of Walmart US and the Chief Sustainability Officer.
We are a team of seasoned energy veterans dedicated to realizing Walmart's regenerative commitments and leveraging Walmart's platform to support the decarbonization of our customers, associates, communities, and suppliers. Because energy touches everything, we work across Walmart, particularly real estate, facilities, supply chain, network design, transportation and customer experience. We have come from across Walmart, utilities, developers, banking, clean energy consulting and environmental NGOs.We are innovators and change agents determined to make an impact. We are analytical and entrepreneurial; thoughtful and practical.
This position reports to the Director, Valuation and Modeling and is an individual contributor role based in Bentonville, Arkansas.
What you'll do...
- Leverage experience in financial analysis and modeling to support development of the Energy Transformation team's onsite energy solutions, energy efficiency projects, electric vehicle charging business, and renewable energy strategy investments and power purchase contracts
- Provide decision support to business partners through financial modeling and valuation analysis of energy capital projects; develop business casing by creating, maintaining, and validating financial models and presentations; validate business cases created by business partners to ensure consistency in methodology and key market assumptions; create discrete financial analysis that support vendor selection and decisioning on energy contracts; present valuation analysis to key stakeholders in capital approval process
- Analyze financial and energy market performance.
- Support in the development of strategic capital plans by compiling results of financial analyses; support in development of strategic capital presentations
- Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
What you'll bring...
- 2-4+ years experience of financial analysis and valuation of energy projects
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or Energy and Environmental Studies; MBA or Master's degree preferred
- Experience in investment banking, project finance, project development strongly preferred
- Experience with solar, batteries, fuel cells, electric vehicle charging, and energy efficiency strongly preferred
- Familiarity with commercial electric utility tariffs and retail rate structures, VPPAs, or tax equity a plus
- Strong communication and project management abilities are crucial

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
