SUMMARY:

The position will be responsible for maintaining the boilers, hot water systems, and refrigeration equipment, plant ventilation systems, and assets processes and areas as required; eliminating downtime unsafe conditions USDA issues and Food Safety concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily supervision and management of the Roundsman crew
  • Actively participate in and insure compliance with stringent plant safety policies and procedures and food safety programs to maintain the PSM program for the plant and stay in compliance with Tyson corporate standards regarding PSM
  • Expected to maintain high levels of labor efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining and managing the ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Prioritize and schedule Roundsman crew work with the assistance of the PSM coordinator
  • Responsible for verification that all equipment licenses have been renewed on an annual basis and that operating certificates are current.
  • Actively participate in Plant maintenance activities HACCP USDA related issues
  • Ensure that repairs are completed within food safety guidelines
  • Assist with PSM and refrigeration programs as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work both 1st and 2nd shifts as needed.

Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent preferred; prefer post-high school education. May include but not limited to special training certification programs, vocational school, military training, and or college classes.

Experience: 5 years minimum experience within industrial maintenance Boiler refrigeration field or technical related background preferred. Industrial Ammonia refrigeration and PSM experience a plus.

Computer Skills: Must be competent in Windows bases software; will be expected to correspond via e-mails enter data into document templates or creating simple queries. SAP experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in all areas of communication: verbal written and reading.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for managing a group of hourly team members who will perform the necessary work to maintain the engine room boilers and refrigeration system.

Special Skills: Must be able to read P&ID's blueprints, ammonia compressors schematics. Must be highly organized with time management and archiving of information; general mechanical abilities, ammonia refrigeration equipment, electrical 230-480 V 3ph 4160V 110V control voltage, pneumatics boiler operations, water treatment, general plumbing knowledge are essential; fabrication skills a plus. Knowledge of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration (IARs).
