Job Description:
Our client is hiring a highly skilled and motivated Consulting Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to engage with customers and stakeholders in a highly visible, customer-facing capacity, focusing on the successful planning and execution of validation engagements for next-generation Service Provider customers. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in accelerating the implementation of new platforms and solutions, validating new design solutions to meet customer requirements, and innovating to gain efficiency in validation efforts. This position requires a deep technical expertise in Core routing and switching, Service Provider technologies, and preferably automation technologies. This is a full-time position where you will be part of a team dedicated to driving growth by designing next-generation solution validation labs and validating these solutions for Enterprise and SP customers.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers and other stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
- Support next-generation Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
- Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.
- Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
- Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
- Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications: - Deep technical expertise with Core routing and switching, Service Provider technologies, and preferably automation technologies.
- Strong customer interaction, troubleshooting, and consulting skills.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.
- Proficiency in customer-facing discussions as well as the technologies listed above.
- Typically requires BS plus 4-5+ years related experience, or a MS with 2-3 years of related experience.
- Customer Facing experience and previous experience in a customer support or TAC-style role preferred.
- Routing and Switching experience, R&S and/or SP CCNP preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IOS-XR and Cisco SP platforms (C8000, ASR9K, and NCS5500).
- Experience in ISIS, BGP, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, and familiarity with programming (Python / Robot Framework preferred).
- Proficient with Industry Test Tools; Spirent and strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation).
