Educational and Experience Requirement:High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. College or continued education courses in business and/or accounting desired. Experience handling cash preferred. Experience as a customer service representative, accountant, or other related field is desired.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Carries out all financial transactions between the University and students, as well as interdepartmental business transactions. Assists in the receipt, disbursement and accountability of cash, checks, and payments received in Student Account Services. Analyzes financial accounts and communicates findings to students, parents, staff and faculty. Provides customer support to Student Account Services.
Primary Responsibilities:Receives monetary items for payment of various accounts due. Receives and processes interdepartmental deposits. Produces receipts, reconciles cash drawer, and prepares bank deposits daily. Applies exemptions, waivers, and external scholarships. Analyzes financial accounts and communicates those findings. Provides customer support for Student Account Services. May coordinate student staff member scheduling, training, and supervision. Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires proficiency with a calculator and other standard equipment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have accuracy in counting and balancing monies and in maintaining records. Must have a pleasant, courteous disposition and possess the ability to work effectively with a high volume of public contact. Errors in business transactions could cause significant loss of monies, time, etc. Special procedures may require extended hours.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
