The Opportunity
International Patient Services: Strategic and Market Leadership Opportunity
Mass General Brigham International Patient Services drives the system-wide effort to provide world-class clinical care to patients from around the globe. This rapidly expanding business leverages the elite expertise of MGB's academic medical centers and specialty hospitals, supported by a strategic investment program designed to elevate the business to new heights.
With innovation and growth at the forefront, this department serves as the central access point for international patients, developing strategic frameworks that ensure sustainable growth and long-term success in global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Report directly to the Vice President of International Patient Services and take ownership of high-impact strategic initiatives that accelerate business expansion, market growth, and competitive positioning.
Cross-System Collaboration:
Build strategic alliances across the broader MGB network to support system-wide program integration and ensure the seamless delivery of services. Identify synergies across departments to optimize performance and position the business for long-term growth.
Global Market Development:
Lead efforts to build and foster partnerships with international healthcare providers, referral networks, and government agencies. Develop strategies that align with evolving global market trends to increase patient referrals and market penetration.
Patient Experience as Market Differentiator:
Design innovative, market-driven strategies for delivering high-touch, personalized patient experiences that differentiate MGB as a leader in international care. Focus on creating a brand synonymous with excellence, driving patient satisfaction and loyalty through customized services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with leadership, this role defines, develops, and executes comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the overarching goals of Mass General Brigham International Patient Services. With a focus on both short- and long-term growth, the role emphasizes leadership in a highly matrixed environment to ensure the seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
Core Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Strategic Business Development:
Partner with the executive team to create an overall and market-specific business development strategy, aligned with the broader International Patient Services objectives.
Develop detailed multi-year strategic plans and tactical workplans, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and market trends.
Establish critical quarterly and annual growth targets and monitor performance to ensure real-time achievement of objectives.
Collaborative Leadership and Coordination:
Lead cross-functional efforts with clinical and functional leaders, ensuring alignment across MGB entities to deliver on the business development strategy.
Partner with hospital-based roles to co-create and implement a high-value lead generation program, leveraging internal employees, alumni, and referral networks.
Collaborate closely with other MGB international activities outside the International Patient Services division, ensuring synergies are maximized.
Strategic Partnerships and Relationship Management:
Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with key external stakeholders, including payers, government entities, hospitals, referring physicians, employers, and other international operators.
Work closely with the contracting team to structure and maintain partnerships that align with strategic business goals.
Go-to-Market Planning and Outreach:
Develop and manage a rolling outreach and engagement calendar, including regular in-region visits by MGB leadership and key international stakeholders.
Implement a forward-looking strategy to maintain consistent contact with global partners, ensuring visibility and strong market presence.
Tracking, Reporting, and Risk Management:
Use CRM software to track performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide real-time reporting to ensure business development objectives are met.
Manage risks proactively by identifying potential challenges and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
Financial Oversight:
Contribute to and manage an annual budget for the business development unit, ensuring alignment with financial goals and operational efficiency.
Governance and Compliance:
Participate in relevant committees and advisory groups to support the continuous evolution of the business.
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, escalating business risks and mitigation plans as appropriate.
Other Responsibilities:
Execute additional duties as assigned, in line with strategic priorities and evolving business needs.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree preferred - Business or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a complex healthcare organization and/or professional services industry
