Job Description
McKesson seeks a Sr. Manager - Enterprise Quality Packaging Engineer for the Enterprise Quality Management function, reporting to the Sr. Director, Quality Assurance. This new function provides packaging engineering and transportation study support for the wide variety of businesses within the McKesson enterprise. The Sr. Manager - Enterprise Quality Packaging Engineer will manage and support packaging projects and transportation qualifications as a subject matter expert (SME) and guide packaging practices. The role will support the Enterprise Quality Team by leading packaging & transportation testing/validations/qualifications, supporting packaging solutions, and increasing packaging & transportation knowledge across McKesson.
Scope of Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Sr. Manager - Enterprise Quality Packaging Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Provides oversight, guidance, expertise, and hands on support for packaging & transportation and cold chain strategies across McKesson Corporation business units.
- Builds packaging engineering programs and practices across McKesson. Provides guidance and technical expertise on packaging & transportations strategies.
- Ideate, support development, and assist implementation of packaging solutions meeting the needs of the company, regulatory bodies, and customers.
- Drafts and executes packaging & transportation testing/validation/qualification plans, protocols, and reports.
- Coaches and mentors across McKesson to further packaging & transportation knowledge and expertise.
- Conducting feasibility studies to determine the suitability of packaging solutions for specific products.
- Analyzing data and researching to improve packaging process and implementing relevant solutions.
- Supports Audits and Inspections when needed. This includes preparation, back-room management, tracking of Lessons Learned, and driving follow-up activities.
- Stays current with applicable regulations and industry practices. Provide updates to business areas and updates procedures and practices accordingly to align with current regulations and industry standards.
- Authors and reviews enterprise packaging & transportation policies and procedures; leading review milestones, engaging stakeholders, and ushering through implementation.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to achieve value for the businesses.
Candidate Profile
- Hands on, coaching, and motivated leader to drive continuous improvements and risk reduction in packaging solutions and transportation testing.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple business units and within cross-functional environments.
- Highly organized and proficient in working in matrixed organizations to support business and program needs.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, organizational and workload planning skills along with the ability to manage multiple different projects simultaneously.
- Ability to teach packaging topics to diverse levels of the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of packaging experience, including minimum of 5 years hands on packaging experience, with proficiency in packaging/transportation testing/validation/qualification.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or mathematics required for this position, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience and/or certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, regulations, and practices coupled with proficiency in an implementation approach for diverse businesses across McKesson Corporation.
- Experience working with an operation site environment such as manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or pharmacy.
- Problem-solver with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative information into actionable recommendations.
- Able to inspire the trust, confidence, and respect of peers and other leaders.
Travel- Occasional travel (10%-15%) estimated monthly

Our Base Pay Range for this position$102,400 - $170,600
