Purpose:

This position exists to improve processes with respect to safety, quality, productivity, and reliability. This position will provide an individual the ability to plan and execute programs and projects and provide innovative leadership to activities within steel processing areas. Steel processing includes bar rolling, tube piercing, thermal treatment and inspection and finishing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Drive EHS performance to industry leading performance by managing EHS goals, participating in Iron Shield, participating in housekeeping audits, and leading project implementation to ensure improvement in leading and lagging indicator performance.
• Responsible for the analysis of daily performance. Help to ensure standard operating practices and procedures are followed. This person will identify and correct deficiencies in current practices with objectives focused on quality improvement, increased throughput and reducing cost.
• Monitor process costs and develop plans to maximize operation time while maintaining quality and cost objectives. Investigate opportunity for reducing costs.
• Foster an environment that encourages continuous improvement ideas from all associates.
• Communicate between various departments, continuous improvement teams, SBU and plant staff through daily contacts, regular coordination meetings, and as required for special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology with engineering or manufacturing experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology with a TimkenSteel/Metallus internship in engineering or manufacturing.
