JOB DESCRIPTION

As Tech Service Specialist VI, you will provide technical support for incoming inquiries regarding service and repair issues with supported equipment in the field.

Reporting directly to the Regional Service Manager, this position is based in Ft Wayne, IN.

Major Accountability:

  • Provide technical support on the product brand equipment for Service Techs, Service agencies, Sales and customers via phone, email, or possibly at a customer's location.
  • Work closely with Management, Customer Service, Sales and Engineering to resolve escalated technical support issues evolving around the brands equipment in a timely manner.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Able to read engineering drawings for mechanical and electrical components and determine fit and function. Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and write sequence of operation.
  • Measure equipment and component parts during production to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Utilize computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Can work with engineering for new product development and review new designs and provide feedback on existing equipment.
  • Be able to create and present equipment training via Teams or classroom setting.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of a Technical Degree with a minimum of one year of experience servicing commercial foodservice or similar equipment is required. Will consider a high school diploma with a minimum of five years' same experience in lieu of degree required.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Familiar and able to work with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate well and with tact verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service skills - required.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be willing to travel to provide for training or field issue support.
  • Office setting, heavy phone and computer use.
  • After-hours support is required. Ability to take "on-call" duty on a rotating basis.
  • Must be flexible.
