Position Description:

We are seeking a Technology Operations Lead. This position focuses on continuous improvement, automation, and supporting the core operations team with focus on efficiency, simplification, quality, and effectiveness. An effective IT Operations Lead must have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to adapt to changing technologies and business requirements. They will collaborate with the IT leadership team to develop and execute IT strategies.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the SVP Technology Operations in driving changes and improvements to the FCBT Operations environment including performance, batch processing and scheduling, compliance related manual work, and automation of processes to increase efficiency.
  • Evaluate current operations capabilities, identify the greatest areas of opportunities, and build a prioritized execution plan and roadmap.
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of personnel assigned to tasks within the operations team; determines staffing and system requirements; assigns and coordinates tasks among available staff.
  • Monitors performance and manages resource allocation to ensure adherence to project schedules. Manages the workflow of project tasks on assigned projects within the program. Ensures project design, development and implementation phases are completed on time and within budget.
  • Responsible for assisting in the execution of daily IT operations to include creating, executing, and/or improving business and administrative processes.
  • Keeps informed on state-of-the-art technology and techniques to effectively accomplish assigned responsibilities. Thorough understanding of IT Operational procedures and concepts, through knowledge experience with system procedures and design.
  • Work with Business SMEs and project teams to create or modify operational job schedules, and dependencies. Work closely with other departments to understand their IT operational needs.
  • Ensures proper documentation of IT Operations processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Administers change control software, including overseeing installation of new releases, moving new and changed objects to production as well as monitoring and auditing change history on the system.
  • Serves as a lead in disaster recovery preparation and testing. Keeps disaster recovery documentation up to date on assigned systems.
  • Co-mentoring and co-leading junior team members in collaboration with SVP.
  • Strong working knowledge of IBM OS/400, Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server, relational database theory and system security.
  • Provide before and after hours, and weekend support for migrations, updates, fixes, and production issues as needed. Ability to be on call for production support as needed.

What You Bring to the Team:

Our ideal candidate lives within a commutable distance from our scenic North Austin office off Loop 360 at the Pennybacker Bridge and is willing to work a hybrid office schedule.

This is a critical role that covers many diverse skills. This position requires:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or business preferred, or related field or equivalent experience and six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in multi-platform systems administration. Experience in driving operational improvements, and IT operations process automation. Excellent communication skills both technical and business. PMP certification preferred.
