Location: San Francisco (Hybrid)

We're currently setting up a new office in San Francisco, CA so initially, this role will be home-based. When our new office has opened you'll transition to this new office. As a key pillar of our Issuer Services strategy, we are re-organizing our front office to deepen our engagement with existing and future clients, which will enable us to better address their needs.

The VP, Strategic Alliances role fulfils a strategic need for the U.S. Issuer Services Business by engaging the largest advisors / law firms in the U.S. to drive awareness of Computershare, our offerings and our differentiated value proposition to the managing partners, partners, and associates across their multi-city offices. This position will partner with the senior business leaders, business development teams and marketing to drive growth in our largest strategic focus areas, including Initial Public Offerings and Merger & Acquisition services, Governance Services, and Georgeson advisory solutions.

The VP, Strategic Alliance role is accountable for deepening and broadening our engagement with US advisors / law firms, building relationships with partners and senior partners at strategic advisors and law firms on behalf of Computershare will be critical to our success.

The Vice President of Strategic Alliances is responsible for creating and driving strategies to expand awareness of Computershare's offerings and elevate the perception of our differentiated value proposition. The position will partner with the Business Development team in the US to create leads which generates new and long-standing trusted relationships and revenue growth resulting in increased market share within the largest growth service opportunities for Issuer Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform an outreach strategy targeted to the top advisors and law firms that are operating in our marketplace.
  • Build long-standing and trusted relationships with managing partners, senior partners and associates across each firm's offices to promote Computershare as their preferred provider for their clients.
  • Identify opportunities for our dedicated Business Development professionals to win new business as represented in their annual objectives.
  • Establish a deeply collaborative partnership with the US-based executives, Business Development and Relationship Management teams to deliver a seamless experience for the law firms throughout their journey of awareness, consideration, recommendation, and satisfaction with our services.
  • Provide inputs to Marketing on the effectiveness of our messaging, content and go to market strategies to improve revenue performance influenced by targeted strategic advisors.
  • Create forums to host or co-host events with strategic advisors to build relationships, create opportunities for new business, and to raise Computershare's brand awareness as an industry though leader.

What will you bring to the role?
  • Highly conversant of CPU's product offerings and the respective value proposition.
  • Deep understanding of market structures, competitors, and our positioning (SWOT; Sound technical knowledge of our services).
  • Nuance-level insight into client needs, operating model, and culture.
  • A natural intellectual curiosity around emerging trends and the ability to synthesize and articulate conversationally.
  • Ability to translate client input (or CPU escalated issues) into actions.
  • Extensive experience of macro financial services experience and/or in a business development role focused on the legal domain and/or law firm community, or direct experience working at a law firm at a substantive level.
  • Strong track record against annual quantifiable goals such as sales quotas, book of business growth, sales leads, etc.
  • Proven capability to leverage target buyer needs, market trends and the competitive landscape to engage Managing Partner-level contacts and generate sales opportunities.
  • Direct experience with compliance, governance and regulatory needs of corporations and the roles of various suppliers in meeting those needs.
  • Experience managing partnerships or alliances with a strong track record of building long standing relationships that result in revenue growth.

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000. In addition to a competitive base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus. This range reflects our good faith effort to pay fairly based on our job evaluation of this role and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
