Purpose

The Virtual Senior Case Manager, Economic Empowerment increases the capacity of newly arrived refugees and other ORR eligible populations facing barriers to identify employment and access the tools, information and services they need to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. The position provides remote assessment, employment services, and service coordination referrals. The role will also conduct employer outreach in communities where the remotely served clients are located. In many cases, the role may coordinate with co-sponsor groups to help clients achieve self-sufficiency goals. Additionally, the position will conduct research and outreach on a wide array to community service providers to advocate for access for clients to promote local integration in a diverse number of locations.

Responsibilities

  • Enroll eligible clients into the program and provide orientation and on-going employment and case management services throughout the program service period
  • Develop, create, and maintain employment solutions for refugees and other ORR-eligible clients
  • Assess clients' employability and assist with development, formulation and implementation of employment service plan, resumes and job applications
  • In collaboration with case managers, work with clients to remove barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency. Identify support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as ESL, transportation, immigration services, and childcare.
  • Identify job opportunities, assist with application completion, coordinate interviews, advocate for clients and follow-up with employers
  • Complete all case notes and program documentation, ensures accuracy and compliance within program guidelines and confirms timely delivery of services
  • Ensure timely data entry into agency databases
  • Research and create sustainable employment programming for remote services
  • Advise clients on safe and timely transport for clients to appointments or activities as needed
  • Communicates, coordinates and promotes program within the community and partners.
  • Respond promptly to employer requests and inquiries
  • Identify new referral resources that will facilitate and assist client in self-sufficiency
  • Serve as an advocate for clients
  • Assist in the completion and filing of EAD requests for remote services clients
  • Maintain up to date information on EAD best practices
  • Attend ILS training and working groups in the CWS network
  • Provide occasional support to CWS sites who need temporary capacity help for EADs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in in lieu of degree
  • At least four years of experience in a local resettlement affiliate providing employment or case management services;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to keep track of and juggle multiple priorities and to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in general office work, processing information and materials and maintaining records and files
  • A quick learner and able to get up to speed quickly on new topics
  • Commitment to professional growth and openness to feedback
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with partners and teams;
  • Knowledge of commonly spoken languages of refugee clients preferred (but not required), including Spanish, Haitian Creole, Dari, Pashto or Ukrainian
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times to represent the professional and institutional interests of CWS;
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database software is essential;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required;

Work Location:

  • This position is a US-based remote role. Employees wishing to maintain a remote work arrangement must be able to fulfil the following conditions:
  • Ability to maintain secure and appropriate personal work environment for day-to-day work
  • Access to strong and reliable internet access
  • Ability to adhere to CWS data security policies and protect sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Regular work hours must span core business hours 10AM-4PM Eastern time - some flexibility in core work hours depending on candidate time zone
  • Must use CWS provided equipment such as laptop and cell phone
