The VP, Home Equity Product Development is responsible for leading the development, enhancement and management of home equity products such as home equity loans and home equity lines of credit (HELOC). Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and collaboration with various departments to ensure the successful delivery of ongoing product management.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation, enhancement, prioritization and delivery of home equity products and services to meet market demands and client needs.
  • Develops and implements Home Equity product strategies and planning, collaborating with leadership on rationale for product offering, alignment to business plan, impact on current and future capital position and identified risks and how they will be mitigated.
  • Conducts market research and analysis in collaboration with Business Development, Client Management and other industry intelligence providers to identify opportunities and trends and client needs to maximize revenue opportunities within the home equity landscape.
  • Tracks and analyzes the performance of home equity products using key metrics and makes data-driven decisions to improve product offerings.
  • Drives the collaboration with key stakeholders across the enterprise with Enterprise Change Management, Finance, Technology, Enterprise Risk
  • Management, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Business Development, Client Management, Pricing and Marketing and Communications to ensure successful product delivery and ongoing product management.
  • Gathers and utilizes Industry, Client and Homeowner feedback to continuously improve both current and future product offerings.
  • Understands the home equity products being offered in the industry, how the home equity products are serviced in the industry and how they are serviced at Cenlar in order to facilitate communications with existing and potential clients on needs and opportunities within the product space.
  • Understands the agency requirements around the product and assists in establishing credit, quality and operational guidelines for portfolio of the product.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Ensure all activities are in accordance with Cenlar's approved risk appetite statement and applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Marketing or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in product management, offering, and implementation, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of mortgage products, specifically home equity, market trends, regulatory requirements, and the mortgage ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of home equity credit and quality guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully launching and managing a mortgage product portfolio
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire outstanding performance through collaboration
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively execute the strategic goals and mission of Cenlar, while demonstrating Key Success Factors
  • Effective listening, communication, and presentation skills to present complex topics to senior management in a persuasive manner
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills to produce mutually acceptable solutions utilizing available resources with diverse perspectives
  • Excellent coaching and counseling skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask to manage multiple large-scale complex projects enterprise-wide
