About The Role:

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Trucks & Off-Road Program Management. The Director will play a crucial role in shaping and driving the strategic vision for Trucks & Off-Road's zero-emission transportation initiatives, working closely with the VP of Trucks, Off-road & Marketing. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Medium & Heavy Duttransportation systems, robust program management skills, and a passion for environmental sustainability.

This role reports into the Vice President, Trucks & Off Road.

What You'll Do:

  • Day to Day to include:
Program Development and Strategy:
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs focused on the adoption of zero-emission MHD trucks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to design and launch initiatives that align with CALSTART's mission and goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to inform program strategy and development.
Funding Acquisition and Management:
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new funding opportunities from federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private sector and philanthropic sources in partnership with CALSTART's Business Development Team.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals, grant applications, and other funding requests to support program growth.
  • Manage relationships with funders, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and successful program delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, government officials, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Represent CALSTART at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaborations between public and private sector partners to advance the adoption of zero-emission MHD trucks.
Incentive Program Operations:
  • Build and maintain Incentive admin and internal processing capabilities
  • Manage Incentive processing portfolio of $1B+ dollars
  • Develop lean operation processes to reduce operational waste
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of program managers and other staff, providing guidance and support in program execution and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages the sharing of ideas and best practices.
Reporting and Evaluation:
  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funder expectations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, funders, and stakeholders on program progress and impact

What You'll Bring To The Table:
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in program development and management, with a focus on transportation or environmental sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Medium & Heavy Duty transportation systems, zero-emission technologies, and related policies.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding and managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and clean transportation innovation.

Additional Details:
  • This position requires travel to attend meetings, conferences, and site visits as needed.

$117,260 - $140,712 a year

CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $117,260 -$140,712. We determine pay based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
